Premium Member Micro-Grant Program

The Minnesota Black Chamber of Commerce (MBCC) is proud to introduce the Premium Member Micro-Grant Program. As a part of the 10,000 Black Business Program, this initiative is designed to provide financial support to MBCC’s premium members, empowering Black-owned businesses to grow, sustain operations, and access new opportunities. The program aligns with MBCC’s mission of fostering economic growth and development for Black entrepreneurs and small business owners in Minnesota.

Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the micro-grant, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a premium member of the Minnesota Black Chamber of Commerce.
  • Operate a Black-owned business in Minnesota.
  • Demonstrate a clear financial need.
  • Present a feasible plan for using the grant funds.
  • Commit to submitting progress reports and impact statements.

Grant Details

The Minnesota Black Chamber of Commerce Premium Member Micro-Grant Program provides financial support to qualifying premium members on a rolling basis throughout the year. Grants range from $500 to $5,000 and may be used for business development, training, or operational costs. Grant awards are made based on funding availability and program priorities. The number and amount of grants disbursed may vary from cycle to cycle.

Application Process

  1. Application Form: Complete an online application form available on the MBCC website.
  2. Business Plan: Provide a brief business plan, including objectives, financial needs, and intended use of funds.
  3. Budget Proposal: Submit a detailed budget outlining how the funds will be used.
  4. Supporting Documents: Attach any relevant supporting documents such as proof of business registration, financial statements, or letters of recommendation.

Evaluation Criteria

Applications will be reviewed and evaluated based on the following criteria:

  • Business potential and growth prospects.
  • Alignment with MBCC’s mission and goals.
  • Community impact.
  • Demonstrated financial need.
  • Clarity and feasibility of the proposed use of funds.

Grant Management and Reporting

Recipients will be required to submit quarterly reports detailing the use of funds and business progress. Additionally, MBCC may request participation in promotional activities to showcase the impact of the micro-grant program.

The micro-grant program is made possible through the generous support of Huntington Bank and The McKnight Foundation. Their commitment to empowering Black-owned businesses has significantly contributed to the launch of this initiative.
