About The 10,000 Black Business Program

The Minnesota Black Chamber of Commerce (MBCC) is committed to encouraging entrepreneurship by supporting and investing in Black business owners. Our commitment has led us to create the 10,000 Black Business program (10K BBP) as a transformative business accelerator designed to empower and support Black-owned small businesses in Minnesota. MBCC is committed to providing a supportive and intentional experience in the areas of business development, entrepreneur training, technical assistance, and networking opportunities.

Our program focuses on three business development phases:

  • Launch: Small business owners who are in the early stages of business seeking assistance in the areas of business management, marketing and branding, legal, and accounting services.
  • Grow: Small business owners who are seeking to grow in areas of sales, marketing, client acquisition strategies, and operations.
  • Scale: Small business owners who are established, making monthly recurring profit and are seeking to grow in areas of sales, product-market fit, hiring, and revenue growth strategies.

Services made available through this program include:

  1. Business establishment assistance
  2. Technical Assistance and Training
  3. Business coaching and mentorship
  4. Business expansion or start-up grants

Eligibility:

Each business that applies for the program will be reviewed by a grant selection committee consisting of MBCC staff and MBCC board members. This committee will ensure applications meet eligibility criteria and pass the business verification review (grow and scale cohorts). General eligibility criteria include:
